This freeze, they claim, was later retroactively justified by a federal magistrate judge in North Carolina, who issued a seizure warrant allowing Tether to burn the tokens and mint new ones. However, the plaintiffs argue that this warrant was issued too late and did not retroactively authorize the initial freeze.
